Pool time is sacred. It’s a magical place where everything tastes better, colors are brighter, and worries drift away. Whether your idea of pool time is lounging with a cold cocktail in hand, sunglasses on, giant hat shielding the rays, or splashing about as if trying to impress the sun, we’ve got a pool for you. Here’s a midsummer countdown of our favorite cool spots.
Pool 8: Mayan Palace Inside Pool at Puerto Peñasco
Open, always, winter or summer, rain or shine! This pool allows members to soak up the sun and splash around in the water all year long. Since Puerto Peñasco is a desert oasis on the Sea of Cortez, winter months often bring chilly mornings and evenings, but this solarium-style pool is perfect for a scenic and refreshing dip regardless of season.
Pool 7: The Grand Mayan Pools at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta
This could possibly be the grandest pool oasis you’ve ever seen. Made up of many, many pools filled with fountains, islands, and sculptures, these pools start at The Grand Mayan and wind out toward the Bay of Banderas. They offer everything you could want in your pool experience—Jacuzzis, a lazy river, two wave pools, a Mayan pyramid water slide (!!!), and plenty of room for relaxing swimming.
Pool 6: The Grand Mayan Sanctuary Pool at Vidanta Riviera Maya
Bring company; hours shared in this beautiful lagoon are hours doubled. This gorgeous pool feels like a hidden haven tucked away into the resort’s lush jungle greenery. With lots of palms, shade, and luxe lounge beds, you can’t help but feel like you’re in an exotic remote oasis.
Pool 5: Mayan Palace Playa Pool at Vidanta Acapulco
Choose your own refreshing adventure. With stunning ocean views, plenty of smaller pools to explore, Jacuzzis, and lush landscaping and gorgeous palms lining every section, this sprawling pool area is one of Acapulco’s best!
Pool 4: Mayan Palace Pool at Vidanta Riviera Maya
The Mayan Palace pool is the life of this resort, with a series of interconnected pools that play host to a variety of activities. It overlooks the turquoise Caribbean waters (and Riviera Maya’s famous palapa-tipped docks) and is filled with Mayan statues, fountains, waterfalls, and fun. Don’t forget to dine on some refreshing fare at the many nearby restaurants, too!
Pool 3: The OMNIA Dayclub Pool at Vidanta Los Cabos
Who can resist the simple yet high-end allure of the OMNIA Dayclub pool? Located directly next door to Casa Calavera (yum!) and offering live DJ sets by some of the world’s best mix-masters, this crystalline pool is the picture of Cabo luxury. It offers ocean views, VIP villas and bungalows, lounge bed swings, and plush luxury couches. You can order food from next door and delight in delicious drinks or, of course, bottle service.
Pool 2: The Beach Club at Vidanta Riviera Maya
When you’re in The Beach Club, it often feels like this gorgeous series of pools and lounges was built for making your friends jealous on social media. This pool lounge has style for days. It boasts dynamic architecture, VIP lounges and secluded pools, a beach lounge section, and gorgeous bars. Just stepping foot in here will make you feel like royalty.
Pool 1: Grand Luxxe Sky Lounge Pool at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta
Float above the palms, surrender to ultimate bliss, drift with the warm breeze. With sprawling views of the resort, the Bay of Banderas, the Ameca River, the Sierra Madre Mountains, and an infinity edge that makes you feel like you can swim into the sky, this pool simply can’t be beat. Located at the top of Grand Luxxe Tower Five and neighboring Quinto restaurant, this pool may be simple in layout, but spending a day here makes you feel on top of the world.
Lounging in luxury is thirsty (and hungry) work. No matter where you choose to spend your sunny days by the pool, don’t forget to indulge in the whole experience by sipping and savoring your way through our many bars and posh restaurants.
